Brian Hawkinson

About Brian

Brian Hawkinson is an associate attorney who began his legal career with Haddad & Sherwin LLP in 2020. In law school, Brian was a member of UC Hastings’ renowned Moot Court team, winning the 2019 Evan A. Evans Constitutional Law Moot Court Competition in Madison, WI. In Fall of 2019, he argued a live case at the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Ninth Circuit through the Hastings Appellate Project, winning a remand for a client facing deportation.

Prior to law school, Brian worked for six years as a high school history teacher, teaching U.S. History and AP U.S. History. His favorite memories include taking students to compete in National History Day competitions at the state, local, and national levels and chaperoning students on an annual, week-long civil rights field trip to the American South. He credits his teaching experience for fostering his interest in constitutional law and revitalizing his passion for learning.
